Do you ever wonder when is the best time of the day, week, month or year to purchase a new shirt, book a cruise or go grocery shopping? I always wonder those things and I am sure you do to. I have been searching online for a few days trying to find the most accurate information about it and this is what I have found.

Airplane Tickets: Wednesday
When to buy: On a Wednesday, 21 days (or a couple of days earlier) before your flight.
Why: Airlines make major pricing changes (and run fare sales) every week, typically on Tuesday evenings andWednesday mornings and occasionally on Saturdays. Wednesday is generally the cheapest day to fly and Sunday the most expensive. Fares are updated at 10 am, 12:30 pm, and 8 pm on weekdays.
About 21 days out from your flight, you’ll see plenty of deals out there as airlines scramble to fill seats. Don’t wait much longer, prices jump significantly from 14 to seven days ahead of departure.
Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year so getting a bargain for this season is a big no-no.
For holiday travel, you should start looking in September to get good prices. Always remember the fares can change quickly, and much depends on the carrier and the market.
Clothes Shopping: Thursday
Bricks-and-mortar and online retailers alike tend to start their big weekend sales on Thursdays. If you want a real deal you will find the most offers that day. You can also more likely to get your hands on the sale item because retailers beef up stock to prepare for the weekend rush, says Smart Money.
The catch: although sales are more plentiful on Thursday, there may be slightly better deals on other days in select categories.
Sale dresses, for example, carry an average discount of 54% off on Mondays. Retailers — including Banana Republic, Lord & Taylor and J.C. Penney — are also starting to shift sales, starting markdowns as early as Wednesday.
Personal Care Items: Sunday
If you want free toothpaste or deodorant, then hit up the big drugstore chains on Sundays when the discounts and rebates on the latest store circular kick in. But to grab deals, you’ll need to go early. “There are people there at midnight to stock up.”
Not an early bird? Then the best day for you might be later in the week. “If you really care about getting that free toothpaste, go on the day that the truck comes in,” she says. “Ask the manager when he or she expects the next shipment.”
Cruise: As early as possible
Last-minute specials may save you money on airfare, but cruise lines offer their best deals early. Cruises usually open at what they feel will be the lowest price for that cruise. The price will go up as the sale date nears and the ship fills
Financial savings isn’t the only reason to book early. When booking early you can secure your optimal stateroom category, position, meal time, and shore excursions. If you have your heart set on staying on a certain deck or taking a specific tour, you will have more success tailoring your cruise to suit your needs if you book early. Wait until the last-minute and the best rooms will be taken and the most popular shore activities sold out. Plus, by booking in advance, you’ll have extra time to hunt for a great deal on your airfare to your departure port.
Enjoy!
